Location

Spider Rock Campground is located 10 miles east of the Canyon de Chelly Visitor Center on the South Rim Canyon Drive at Canyon de Chelly National Monument. We recommend purchasing a good map of Arizona/Navajo Nation if you will be spending time in the region. See rough area map below.

Driving Directions

From Phoenix (about 350 miles)
Take the I-17 north to the I-40 east (exit #340A toward Winslow/Albuquerque). Take US-191 north (exit #333 toward Chambers/Ganado). When US-191 reaches the 264, go west on 264 for about 6 miles until getting back on the 191 north to Chinle. When you get to Chinle, take a right (east) onto BIA 7, which will take you to Canyon de Chelly National Monument -- Spider Rock Campground is 10 miles past the Visitor Center on BIA 7.

From Grand Canyon (about 240 miles)
Take the East Rim Drive, the 64, past Desert View and all the way to Cameron. Take the 89 north to the 160. Go east on the 160 for 10 miles to the 264. Take the 264 east 100+ miles until you reach US-191. Take the 191 North to Chinle. When you get to Chinle, take a right (east) onto BIA 7, which will take you to Canyon de Chelly National Monument -- Spider Rock Campground is 10 miles past the Visitor Center on BIA 7.

From Las Vegas (about 450 miles)
Take the 515 South. 515 S becomes US-93 S. Take the US-40 East/US-93 South exit on the left. Merge onto the 93 S. Stay straight to go onto I-40 E. Stay on I-40 E for about 260 miles. Take the US-191 NORTH exit, exit number 333, towards CHAMBERS/GANADO. Turn LEFT onto US-191. When US-191 reaches the 264, go west on 264 for about 6 miles until getting back on the 191 north to Chinle. When you get to Chinle, take a right (east) onto BIA 7, which will take you to Canyon de Chelly National Monument -- Spider Rock Campground is 10 miles past the Visitor Center on BIA 7.

From Salt Lake City (about 430 miles)
Take the I-15 headed South. Take the US-6 EAST exit, exit number 261, towards PRICE(US-89 E)/MANTI. Merge onto US-6. Stay straight to go onto I-70 E. Take the US-191 exit, number 180, towards MOAB. Get on US-191 heading south. Take the 191 south all the way to Chinle. Turn LEFT (east) onto BIA 7, which will take you to Canyon de Chelly National Monument -- Spider Rock Campground is 10 miles past the Visitor Center on BIA 7.

From Albuquerque (about 225 miles)
Take I-40 headed West. Take the US-666/Munoz Blvd. exit, exit number 20, toward Shiprock. Turn RIGHT onto US-666 N. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto NM-264. Turn RIGHT (north) onto US-191. Turn RIGHT (east) onto BIA 7, which will take you to Canyon de Chelly National Monument -- Spider Rock Campground is 10 miles past the Visitor Center on BIA 7.

From Monument Valley (about 100 miles)
Head southeast on US-163 to Kayenta. Turn LEFT onto US-160. Turn RIGHT onto BIA 59. Take BIA 59 until it reaches US-191. Turn RIGHT (south) onto US-191. Turn LEFT (east) onto BIA 7, which will take you to Canyon de Chelly National Monument -- Spider Rock Campground is 10 miles past the Visitor Center on BIA 7.
